For Advanced Users or 3D Modelers

For those who may want to add their own models to the program, you can always use the ones I included as “templates”. As you probably already figured it out, they are under the \models\ folder. Notice that all models are in standard OBJ and MTL text format. Also notice an optional additional file with the extension XOBJ which is also a text file. I have included some limited help in them. I am sure that you can figure it out without much additional help as you are an Advanced User/Modeler. It goes without saying that you should try to keep the total number of polygons to a minimum for better program performance. I have mainly used Blender as my 3D modeling program of choice. It is free. As a beginner’s exercise try modeling a simple floating cube.

If you do create a boat or structure that you are particularly proud of, send it to me and I’ll consider including it for the next distribution, and give you credit (of course!).
