Full disclosure: Archipelago, at this date, is by no means a completed product. I am constantly trying to improve it. So… consider this is a work “in progress”.
I know there are many other options out there, and I am well aware that I still need to add a lot of objects; but I think you will find in Archipelago many fun/unique features like: realistic waves and physics; water color textures and waves that are depth sensitive, just like in real life; random terrain generation that creates some pretty unique and interesting land; fun and intuitive sailing where, if you are feeling less adventurous, you can use autopilot and/or auto-sail; add markers and routes for boats to follow or race you; and… if you want to get deep into it you can add your own OBJ models to your scene, motorboats or sailboats or structures – I can help you do that (soon I’ll write about it). In summary I think there is a lot of potential for Archipelago to become huge, being free and all!
